ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York Credit Union Foundation is helping credit unions better serve members by offering a new grant making program designed to give a boost to credit unions' operating infrastructure.

Financial Fitness grants of $500 to $2,500 will be awarded for a variety of projects including, but not limited to, Internet access, software upgrades, safer storage of members' personal data, at home banking services, handicapped-accessible teller stations, identity theft solutions, debit and/or credit card programs, and the establishment of I/Rnet service.

Credit unions located within New York State and affiliated with the New York State Credit Union League that demonstrate a financial need are eligible to apply.

Applications must be received by April 30, 2007 and will be reviewed by the Foundation. Financial Fitness grant recipients will be notified by mid-June.
