CHANTILLY, Va. — Online Resources Corp. is now offering a mobile banking and bill pay service to its client base of more than 2,600 client credit unions, banks and other financial services providers.
The hosted application will allow the financial institutions to offer their members and customers a full range of online services through mobile phones and other wireless devices, the company says.
The OFX-based software application is easily downloadable and works with all major U.S. wireless networks, and provides immediate access to approximately 70% of current mobile phone devices with “near-ubiquitous access expected in the next several years as consumer mobile devices are upgraded,” Online Resources says.
The service is fully integrated with Online Resources' payments and security technology and is being offered through a partnership with Access Softek Inc. (www.accesssoftek.com), a global technology provider whose client list includes Microsoft, Apple, Adobe Systems, ITI, Symbol Technologies, H&R Block, Motorola and NEC.
“We believe that by widening distribution of the Web channel via mobile devices, our clients can increase adoption of their channels and in many cases benefit from offering another premium service,” says Matt Lawlor, chairman and chief executive officer at Online Resources (www.orcc.com).
