VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — USERS Inc. says its core processing system now can run on the next-generation Hewlett-Packard family of Integrity servers.

The Fiserv business unit has certified its DataSafe system to run on the new HP line, powered by Intel's industry-standard Itanium chip, while continuing to support credit unions running the system on the HP's AlphaServer line.

USERS says its testing shows most core system jobs, such as statement runs, ACH and day-end processing, ran an average of 20% to 30% faster on the Integrity servers.

The first client of USERS to go live on the Integrity server is $68 million Mountain Credit Union of Waynesville, N.C., which had been using an AlphaServer for more than six years.
