WASHINGTON — CUNA is busy firming up its speaker list for the Governmental Affairs Conference slated Feb. 25-28 at the Washington, D.C., Hilton & Towers.
Senator Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), who lost the Democratic primary to come back and win the general election as an Independent with lots of financial help from CUNA's political action committee, the Credit Union Legislative Action Council, is slated to speak. He will be joined by fellow legislator incoming House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.).
Other featured speakers will include Washington Post Columnist Michelle Singletary, who writes about making wise financial choices, and Fox News Washington Managing Editor Brit Hume, who was also with ABC for 23 years ending as chief White House correspondent.

This will be the GAC's last year at the Hilton as it has outgrown the space. Beginning in 2008, the program is planned for the Washington Convention Center.
