PORTLAND, Ore.– OnPoint Community Credit Union's 10th branch has set new records.
The Coburg Road branch grand opening drew 558 new memberships and $27.5 million in CD and additional deposits. According to OnPoint officials it was the highest volume grand opening in the credit union's 74-year history. "We attribute this extremely successful opening to increased interest from Eugene residents in having a full-service OnPoint branch, our very competitive 7.5% CD and the branch's great location in one of the city's most vibrant new retail developments," said OnPoint Community CU President/CEO Rob Stuart. The highly popular 12-month CD was offered for just four hours and lines had formed well before the branch's 9 a.m. opening. As a demonstration of its commitment to the community the credit union also presented a $2,500 check to Food for Lane County.
"This is our first contribution to Food for Lane County but it won't be the last," Stuart said.
