PHOENIX — The $2.7 billion Desert Schools Federal Credit Union has hired its first-ever public relations manager.

Jason Meyers will develop and manage all aspects of the credit union's media communications program, which covers a wide range of marketing initiatives from community outreach and events to publicizing new product development and continuing education. "This is a critical area for us as Desert Schools continues to grow at a rapid pace," said Cathy Graham, the CU's senior director of marketing. "Mr. Meyers will help us leverage our relationships with community leaders and media to maximize exposure with our target audiences."

A graduate of San Diego State University, Meyers' career includes posts as director of marketing communications at the Heard Museum as well as senior copy editor of marketing and creative services at The Arizona Republic. Prior to those positions, he spent more than a decade in the radio industry as a brand strategist, advertising production director and on-air personality.
