WASHINGTON -- CUNA will host an audio-conference on disaster preparedness, specifically targeting pandemic, Deputy General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Regulatory Advocacy Mary Dunn announced last week.
The Dec. 19 audio-conference will feature NCUA Executive Director Len Skiles, NASCUS Chair Linda Jekel, and CUNA Director of Disaster Recovery and Preparedness and Vice President of League Relations Scott Earl.
Dunn explained that the call will focus on possible pandemic, but the general principles could apply in other disasters as well. "The purpose of the call is to make sure that credit unions are aware that there are some duties that they need to be fulfilling in this area and to give them some resources on how to accomplish that readiness and preparation," she said. She noted that regulators and examiners are really focusing on disaster preparedness.
