NEW YORK -- CUNA President and CEO Dan Mica bolstered credit unions' HLPR (Home Loan Payment Relief Program) last week when he appeared on national television to discuss the affordable mortgage program.
Mica received five minutes live on Bloomberg Television's After the Bell. He took the time to emphasize credit union efforts to get those of modest means into homes, as well as discuss the slowdown in the housing market in terms of consumer borrowing and saving. He explained that the program, offered by more than 100 credit unions nationwide, is a "no-gimmick," lower-cost alternative home loan for members of modest means.
Bloomberg Television provides business news and analysis 24-hours a day reaching over 200 million homes.
