WASHINGTON — It is amazing how quickly things change in the world of politics. Congressman Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), vilified for his views on credit union conversions, may now win over the hearts of credit unions. The congressman said at NAFCU's Congressional Caucus last week that the statute limiting those with credit union experience to one on the NCUA Board may need to be removed because the NCUA Board needs people who understand financial institutions. See full coverage of that and NAFCU's Congressional Caucus on pages 26-30.
