VACAVILLE, Calif. — After months of waiting, the Travis Credit Union Harvest Days 2006 logo contest winner has been selected.
Students from throughout Vacaville competed in the first-ever contest back in April vying for top prize money and the chance to see their creative artwork come to life.
Second grader Shasta Werthman won the grand prize of two $100 savings bonds and runner-up eighth grader Nicole Hoffman received a $100 savings bond.

The Special Events Committee under the Vacaville Conference and Visitors Bureau unveiled its new "Harvest Days" logo for the first time at Travis Credit Union Park.
Harvest Days 2006, which will take place from October 21-29 at Travis Credit Union Park, is a family-fun festival featuring a pumpkin patch and scarecrow contest along with an Oktoberfest, Halloween parade and costume contest, haunted house, Harvest Ball and chili cook-off.
