NEW YORK — Pablo DeFilippi, former CEO of the Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union and manager of the World Council of Credit Union's IRnet remittance network, has joined the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
DeFilippi has become the Federation's associate director for membership development and will be based in Madison, Wis. DeFilippi will serve the Federation's 225 member credit unions as well as the Federation's Community Development Partners, larger credit unions which associate with the Federation to help bring services to low-income members and communities. "I believe that through its programs and services, the Federation provides critical assistance and expertise to credit unions interested in serving underserved communities," said DeFilippi. "I'm thrilled to join the Federation in this new capacity and to be a part of such an extraordinary team dedicated to working with credit unions, small and large, that empower people of modest means with the financial tools to improve their lives and realize their dreams," he added. "Pablo has a unique combination of credit union management experience at the grassroots level, with a broad perspective on the credit union system and its many components," said Federation Executive Director Cliff Rosenthal. "He has a tremendous amount to offer to credit unions of all sizes and types that want to serve members of modest means more effectively."
The Federation also announced the relocation of Valerie Harrison, the manager of its Faith-Based Credit Union Network and the Federation's Disability Outreach Network to Colorado Springs, Colorado, from the New York office.

"As opportunity and need present themselves, we will consider further geographic diversification," Rosenthal said. "Technology has made it possible even for relatively small organizations to maintain virtually seamless operations across the nation."
