PHOENIX — Arizona Federal has named Troy V. Stang to its senior leadership team as the credit union's vice president of marketing. Stang served President George W. Bush under U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow as director of public and legislative affairs.

Prior to Stang's presidential appointment, he held senior positions in both urban and rural-based credit unions, and also served as the vice president of the Texas Credit Union League functioning as chief of staff to the chairman of CUNA. “The wealth of experience that Troy Stang brings to Arizona Federal will greatly enhance the credit union's ability to deliver value-added services to the members,” said Ron Westad, president/CEO. “He has the perfect balance of high level government experience coupled with a grassroots community credit union background. Above all, he has a strong track record of outstanding service to members, which is our number one focus at Arizona Federal.”

“It is rewarding to be a part of an institution that is true to its not-for-profit mission and strives to deliver value to its member-owners and the community in everything it does,” the Minnesota native said. “I have been impressed that surveys consistently show year after year that Arizona Federal members are highly satisfied with the exceptional service they receive.”

Earlier this month, Stang was chosen to join the elite i3 Group by Filene Research Institute and the Center for Credit Union Innovation, which is committed to tapping “the creative skills and energies of leaders to benefit the industry,” according to Mark Meyer, the institute's director of innovation.
