Jim Demland, a longtime member of the board of directors of Texas Dow Employees Credit Union, Lake Jackson, Texas, died on May 25 at age 83. Demland served TDECU as a volunteer for 26 years, first on the Audit Committee from 1980-1984 and then as a board member from 1984-2006. He was the secretary of the board at the time of his passing. During his tenure TDECU reached $1 billion in assets and over 95,000 in members. He is survived by his wife, Evelyne Sealy Demland, several children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
