ORLANDO, Fla. — Fairwinds Credit Union's more than 121,000 members now have the ability to apply for mortgages with the credit union online, and the CU has gained the ability to provide 24/7 mortgage lending capabilities to them.
The $1.2 billion CU implemented the easyLENDER Mortgage loan origination and processing system from Fiserv Lending Solutions.
In 2005, Fairwinds closed nearly 1,000 mortgage loans, presenting about $150 million in total loan volumes. With plans to add 15-20 new branches in the next 18 months, Fairwinds management determined they needed new loan origination software technology to better support its growing mortgage business and provide improved member support, but management said it couldn't commit the resources required for customized LOS installation.

Fairwinds' Real Estate Manager Mike Dahlquist said the CU chose easyLENDER's off-the-shelf capabilities such as integration with automated underwriting providers, efficient application processing, useful document- and task-tracking features, secondary reporting capabilities, closing document preparation, electronic document delivery, and automated data exchange with loan-servicing systems.
Fairwinds also recently converted to a new core processing system, and the CU said easyLENDER also integrates with a wide range of core data-processing systems.
