EAST CHICAGO, Ind. — This year's National Puerto Rican Day parade included a special credit union participant–Advance Financial Federal Credit Union's Kids Club Mascot “Moe” the Monkey.
The credit union's popular mascot was on-hand to make sure everyone had a great time celebrating East Chicago's 25th Annual Puerto Rican Day, which was established to create a national awareness and appreciation of Puerto Rican culture and its contribution to U.S. society.
The day is also an opportunity to promote the study and advancement of Puerto Rican culture through community events, including: parades, musical productions, plays and art exhibits across the United States.
