ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA has scheduled its latest Access Across America Economic Empowerment Summit for Oct. 3 in Norfolk, Va.
The free, one-day event for credit unions from Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia offers information to credit union officials on how to obtain federal resources and use partnerships with the government to better serve their members and help them achieve financial self sufficiency. Educational subject matter will include data security, homeownership, member business lending, health savings accounts, and serving the military and underserved communities.
NCUA has invited presenters representing NeighborWorks America, the Virginia Credit Union League, Virginia and North Carolina credit union representatives, as well as other federal agency representatives. In the past, presenters at these summits have included representatives from the Departments of Agriculture, Housing and Urban Development, Treasury, and the Small Business Administration.
The workshop will be held at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel.
