The University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union, Lexington, Ky., has chosen Kentucky Children's Hospital as its main supporting charity for 2006. Dr. Jackson Smith, chief of endocrinology, and Barbara Parks, director of major gifts and development, were presented with $525. The UK Federal Credit Union will continue to raise funds throughout the year for the children's hospital with all monies going towards equipment that will help physicians measure cholesterol and five “point-of-care” testing to young patients with diabetes. In the fall, the CU plans to have a party with the children.
