Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburg, Ind., was recently named the Territorial Corporate Volunteer of the Year at a dinner hosted by the Salvation Army. The award was given to one company within a 10 state area. Heritage Federal has enjoyed a strong working relationship with the Salvation Army and was quick to mobilize volunteers for the canteen following the November 6th tornado. HFCU employees have also raised funds and collected toys for the Salvation Army. MaPS Credit Union, Salem, Ore., has named Maria Zavala its Stellar Teller for the month of April. In addition to her almost perfect member evaluation scores, high referrals and 100% balancing and accuracy, Zavala uses her bilingual skills helping with financial transactions and translating written materials for members. She began her employment with the CU in June 2004.
