PASADENA, Calif. – Wescom Credit Union is continuing its new marketing strategy of weeklong branch opening celebrations with the grand opening of its Oceanside branch in San Diego County.
Wescom's grand opening celebration week festivities include a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and culminate with a Saturday celebration where activities include a DJ, giveaways, raffle drawings, and food and refreshments.
The Oceanside branch event resulted in 43 new memberships, 47 saving certificates for a total of $52,000, and a total of $53,897 in deposits. For the week, deposits totaled over $186,000.

"Our new celebration week strategy of opening branches has been a real success for us this year," said Darren Williams, president/CEO of Wescom CU. "By having an entire week to promote the new Oceanside branch it has increased both the product numbers and new memberships. As we open more branches in San Diego County and throughout Southern California this year, I am confident that we will be able to achieve the same success."
The Oceanside branch, which is the first traditional Wescom branch in San Diego County, features two ATMs, seven teller windows, two self -help stations, two InLighten screens and a rate board.
