MADISON, Wis. – The CUNA Chief Financial Officers Council has donated $17,000 to the National Credit Union Foundation's Disaster Relief Fund for hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf Coast.

With the 12th annual CUNA CFO Conference and Roundtable originally slated for New Orleans and it being hurricane season, despite a relocation to Palm Springs, California the council kept New Orleans on its mind. The council negotiated a percentage of the new hotel's room night fees be earmarked for the NCUF.

"The council felt it was important to show New Orleans and the Gulf Coast that they remain in our thoughts," said Brian McVeigh, council chair and senior vice president/chief financial officer for NuUnion CU.
