RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – The California Credit Union League gathered several credit union leaders from around the state to its headquarters to contribute $32,000 to Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) campaign to succeed Bill Thomas (R-Calif.).

In stark contrast to Thomas, who has recently questioned NCUA’s integrity and has sought data on whether credit unions are serving the underserved, McCarthy commended the league’s work. “I’ve been knowledgeable about credit unions since the day they let me in,” he said jokingly, mentioning his more than 20-year membership with Kern Schools FCU in Bakersfield. “I appreciate the fact that so many people from my district came down here to support me today.”
