WESTBROOK, Maine – Synergent, a subsidiary of the Maine Credit Union League, has reached a milestone in its Check Processing & Support Services Division by having the 100th branch begin using its Electronic Check Collection product. As of June 26, Synergent's Check Processing & Support Services is now receiving ECC work for 46 credit unions in five states and 119 branches. Recognizing the milestone, Hunter King, senior vice president of Synergent who manages the operations for Check Processing & Support Services observed that ECC was one of the first processors in the country to offer a remote capture product, "and we are pleased at what we have successfully accomplished in a short period of time." He said Synergent's Check Processing & Support Services "was ahead of the curve in image exchange because we began electronically accepting and processing remotely captured checks shortly after the Check 21 legislation passed in 2004."
