WASHINGTON – The president has announced another nominee to fill an open seat on the Federal Reserve Board. Frederic S. Mishkin, a professor at Columbia University, has been nominated to fill the remainder of a 14-year term expiring Jan. 31, 2014. Mishkin currently serves as the Alfred Lerner Professor of Banking and Financial Institutions at Columbia University's Graduate School of Business. He is also the former president of the Eastern Economic Association. He has also taught at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and Princeton University. Mishkin received his bachelor's degree and Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
