Credit Union Times is fortunate to be on the press release list for thousands of credit unions. Truth be told, our e-mail boxes are flooded with press releases every day, and we welcome all of them! But it would be nice to see a return to the basics. Too many credit unions send in press releases that lack basic information about their credit union. The following items are often missing: * Asset size * Number of members * Year chartered * A date for the press release * Complete contact info: Contact person's name, number and e-mail. * Web site address * Photos Including as much of this information as possible is the right way to do it. Give the media the basics so they don't have to waste time on these rudimentary points, but can instead dedicate more time to getting to the story of the release! [email protected]
