BURLINGTON, Mass. – EasCorp said at the end of May its eDeposit branch capture program processed one million items. The program has seen steady growth, with 79 credit unions from 12 states now performing branch capture through it. EasCorp has also launched a new version in eDeposit 1.1.O. "This upgraded version offers several operational enhancements. But the two most important are features that give credit unions a means to identify duplicate items and better quality control over the MICR line information through optical character recognition," said George Dow, assistant vice president, business development, for EasCorp. EasCorp's new eDeposit software also has a MICR code line mismatch feature, which allows credit unions to identify MICR errors contained within a file. "When images are tested for quality, the software also performs an OCR scan," Dow said. "If read successfully, the values are compared with those stored in the database. If there is a mismatch in any of the fields, the system halts and projects a warning, allowing the user to correct problems prior to file transmission."
