GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina Community Federal Credit UnionBoard Director William T. Posey has been presented the Mark ofExcellence Award at the 71st annual meeting of the North CarolinaCredit Union League. The Mark of Excellence Award recognizessustained leadership among N.C. credit union people. Eligibility islimited to past winners of the Ronald J. Hutchins Credit UnionPerson of the Year Award who have at least 25 years of service inthe credit union industry. A committee made up of statewide creditunion leaders selected Posey to receive the award. Posey, who wonthe Credit Union Volunteer Person of the Year Award last year, alsoearned the same distinction from NAFCU. A retired lieutenantcolonel in the US Air Force Posey is a decorated war hero. Heearned the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross and numerousother commendations for his combat service in Vietnam and amassedover 850 combat flying missions in Southeast Asia. With a creditunion volunteer career that spans four decades, he joined the boardof NCCFCU in 1978 and served in a variety of positions until beingnamed chairman from 1998-2001. He currently serves as co-chair ofthe policy review committee.
