GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union Board Director William T. Posey has been presented the Mark of Excellence Award at the 71st annual meeting of the North Carolina Credit Union League. The Mark of Excellence Award recognizes sustained leadership among N.C. credit union people. Eligibility is limited to past winners of the Ronald J. Hutchins Credit Union Person of the Year Award who have at least 25 years of service in the credit union industry. A committee made up of statewide credit union leaders selected Posey to receive the award. Posey, who won the Credit Union Volunteer Person of the Year Award last year, also earned the same distinction from NAFCU. A retired lieutenant colonel in the US Air Force Posey is a decorated war hero. He earned the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross and numerous other commendations for his combat service in Vietnam and amassed over 850 combat flying missions in Southeast Asia. With a credit union volunteer career that spans four decades, he joined the board of NCCFCU in 1978 and served in a variety of positions until being named chairman from 1998-2001. He currently serves as co-chair of the policy review committee.
