Staffers and members alike at Livermore, California-based Operating Engineers Federal Credit Union are mourning the loss of Vice President of Member Services Nancy Walker Cohan, who died at the age of 49. A stand out from the beginning, as a teller in 1978, Cohan's credit union proficiencies, communication skills and effervescent personality earned her the California Credit Union League's "Youth of the Year" award. Known for her professional dedication, knowledge, warmth and infectious sense of humor, Cohan was promoted to vice president of member services in 1987. During her tenure, she helped expand the OEFCU branch service network from two to 23 branches that now encompasses the states of California, Hawaii, Oregon, Nevada and Utah.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Cohan; son, Thomas Walker; mother, Joanne Jennings; and sisters, Donna Munoz, Teresa Wolfe and Jane Gonzales.
