LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – Consider it the summer of Health Savings Account education for financial institutions. Turnkey HSA program provider HSA Clearing Corp. has kicked off its free webinars on Health Savings Accounts. Slated to run throughout the summer, the one-hour seminars will focus on what financial institutions need to provide a successful HSA program. HSAs are tax-free savings accounts that can be used to pay for medical expenses including prescription and over the counter drugs incurred by individuals, spouses or dependents. These accounts are accompanied by high-deductible comprehensive insurance policies that cover preventive care and larger medical bills. Unused HSA money rolls over from year to year and can then be used to pay for medical care up to the plan’s deductible. Experts say HSAs not only offer an opportunity for financial institutions to grow their deposit base but can go a long way to attracting new members. According to HSA Clearing, with a large percentage of group health insurance programs set to renew during the fall, open enrollment season opportunities abound for the financial institutions that have an HSA program in place by then. The educational webinars air dates are as follows (times are CST): June 27, 3:00 p.m.; July 11, 11:00 a.m.; July 25, 3:00 p.m.; August 8, 11:00 a.m.; and August 22, 3:00 p.m. For more information on the free webinars visit www.hsaclearing.com.
