LAS VEGAS – CU Direct used the backdrop of its eighth Annual Auto Lending Symposium held June 14-16 at the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, to announce the eight winners of its 2006 Best Practices Awards and the three winners of CUDL's inaugural CUDL Choice Award.
A capacity crowd of more than 350 symposium attendees and guests-including representatives from 51 new CUDL-member credit unions-were on hand for the awards presentation.
The eight CUDL Best Practice award winning CUs were honored for their indirect lending practices in one of four categories: Business Development and Dealer Relations, Marketing to Members, Remarketing and Collections, and Portfolio Growth & Management.

Henrico FCU, Richmond, Va. and BECU, Tukwila, Wash., were recognized in the category of Business Development and Dealer Relations. Wescom CU, Pasadena, Calif. and Qualstar CU, Bellevue, Wash. took home the Best Practice Awards.
Wescom also won in the category of Remarketing and Collections, along with Eugene, Ore.-based Oregon Community CU. In the category of Portfolio Growth & Management, San Antonio-based Security Service FCU and Tacoma, Wash.-based Sound CU took home the awards.
The inaugural CUDL Choice Awards recognized three CUs for their ongoing dedication and success in advancing their auto lending programs. The three CU winners were: Northeast CU, Portsmouth, N.H.; OnPoint Community CU, Portland, Ore.; and America First FCU, Ogden, Utah.
CU Direct also announced its 2007 symposium will be held June 20-22 in Las Vegas.
