SAN DIMAS, Calif. – Financial Service Centers Cooperative has announced that three Rhode Island CUs have joined its shared branch network, the first CUs in the state to sign onto shared branching. The three are Community & Teachers Federal Credit Union in East Providence, Columbus Credit Union in Warren, and Wave FCU in Providence. Daniel F. Egan, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Credit Union League, commented that, "Numerous credit unions throughout the country have awakened to the real potential of the shared branch network. I expect to see it expand in the next twelve months, as members become more familiar with the benefits of using shared branching." "We are thrilled about this new venture. We've been looking forward to the opportunity to bring shared branching services to Rhode Island," said FSCC CEO Sarah Canepa Bang.
