ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – PSCU Financial Services, the cooperative for credit unions which process their card transactions with First Data Corp., will offer a series of one-day seminars, free, for CU managers interested in tightening up their card fraud prevention programs.

The program, Security Summit 2006, will be hosted in 10 cities this summer and will include specific recommendations for preventative tactics, including authentication methods, policies and procedures as well as employee training and consumer education.

Speakers will include Barry F. Smith, president of Bankcard Fraud Solutions Consulting Inc., and representatives from the CUNA Mutual Group.

"Speakers will share the newest schemes being used by would-be thieves and explain how credit unions can set up processes to both detect and deter fraudulent attempts," said David J. Serlo, president, PSCU Financial Services.

The seminars will be held from July 18, 2006, to Sept. 26, 2006. Each seminar will last from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cities include (in order): Minneapolis-St. Paul area (Falcon Heights), Minn.; Greater Milwaukee (Pewaukee), Wis.; Greater Detroit (Plymouth), Mich.; Hollywood, Calif.; Honolulu, Hawaii; Nashville, Tenn.; Fairfax area (Oakton), Va.; Greater Seattle (Tukwila), Wash.; Redwood City, Calif.; and St. Petersburg, Fla.
