ATLANTA – Delta Community Credit Union was recently recognized for three achievements involving their community service programs.

The credit union was recognized by Children's Miracle Network and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for its exemplary fundraising efforts on behalf of Credit Unions for Kids, which is a national sponsor of CMN. Delta Community said it has raised more than $45,000 for CMN in 2005 and since 1998, has raised more than $200,000 for CMN.

Delta Community also received statewide recognition in the Louise Herring competition, awarded for its commitment to the "people helping people" philosophy of credit unions. The credit union received second place in the Dora Maxwell competition, in recognition of outstanding achievement in a social responsibility program for 2005. These awards were bestowed by the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates.

Rick Foley, president/CEO of Delta Community CU, credits the employees for their can-do attitude and desire to serve. "We're very lucky to have such a service-oriented staff," Foley said. "They're always ready to step up to help out fellow workers with an emergency or working on a community-wide fundraiser. Our people really believe in the credit union philosophy of `people helping people' and put it to work on a daily basis in the communities that we serve."
