PEORIA, Ill. – CEFCU is doing its best to enhance the museum experience.

CEFCU has donated $250,000 to the Central Illinois Regional Museum to establish the Illinois River Science Laboratory, an interactive educational area with activities for museum visitors of all ages.

According to CEFCU President/CEO Mark Spenny, the credit union recognized the importance of supporting an educational opportunity that would enhance the quality of life for CEFCU members in Central Illinois as well as the entire community.

"This donation to the Central Illinois Regional Museum demonstrates our investment in the future of Central Illinois. For many years to come, generations will enjoy this exciting new facility and learn about the rich heritage of the Illinois River. We're confident the new Museum will reinforce our belief that Central Illinois is a wonderful place to live, learn, work, and play," said Spenny.

He adds that the continued collaboration between Lakeview Museum, the Peoria Historical Society, the Peoria Regional Museum Society, the African American Hall of Fame, and the Illinois High School Association will make it a first-class regional attraction.
