Well the 2006 NAFCU Board election is over and while I want to thank all who feel volunteers are important to the credit union movement and voted for either of the two volunteer candidates, once again we have failed to add even one additional volunteer to the NAFCU Board.
Dave Gilbert will continue to be the only real volunteer on the board. Dave does a wonderful job, but this limited representation of real CU volunteers is not adequate, in the minds of some.
I fear that in the not too distant future our friends the bankers will use this fact as another item to downplay the movement. We seem to talk the talk about volunteer involvement, but we do not choose to walk the walk.

Thanks again to those who voted for the volunteer candidates. I hope that someday there are enough of you to swing the voting in the positive direction and we see a better volunteer representation on the boards of our trade associations.
