MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – The $3 billion Kinecta FCU has hired Simone Lagomarsino as its new president/CEO.

The top job at Kinecta has been open since Tom Graham's departure last year. Lagomarsino has 25 years of financial services experience, most recently as executive vice president of First Financial Bank of California. She's a past president of $2.7 billion Hawthorne Savings and executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Countrywide Bank, the $75 billion banking subsidiary of Countrywide Financial Corporation.

Lagomarsino was named Los Angeles Business Journal's Business Owner/CEO of the year in 2003.

Graham oversaw the name change from Hughes Aircraft Employees FCU to Kinecta, a monumental change for the CU, which has its roots in aerospace. Graham is now CEO of SunCorp Corporate CU, Arvada, Colo.

Lagomarsino is one of a number of bankers to land large CU CEO jobs in recent years.
