SHREWSBURY, N.J. – According to Credit Union Times' recently expired voting poll, NCUA's data collection pilot, which was spurred on by Congress' interest in who CUs are serving, will prove inconclusive.
Some of the 481 CUs part of the pilot have already completed it, including Navy Federal. The deadline is Aug. 31. Many in credit union land believe no matter what the results the bankers will criticize how well credit unions are serving those of modest means, while other credit union leaders believe this pilot is the first step in a ready-made defense against banker attacks. The poll question and results are as follows:
