PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Northeast Credit Union has joined the growing number of credit unions that are demonstrating their commitment to assisting lower income homebuyers to afford a home of their own by committing to CUNA's Home Loan Payment Relief program.
The $450 million credit union that serves more than 46,000 members at branches in Portsmouth, Exeter, Dover, Rochester, Manchester, Concord and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, committed $3 million in HLPR loans.
In addition to its participation in the HLPR program, NECU offers several other mortgage options to its members. Among the products are low down payments, affordable interest rates, flexible qualifying guidelines, low private mortgage insurance requirements and even special qualifying rates for law enforcement officers, firefighters, teachers and healthcare workers.

Since CUNA launched the HLPR program in October 2005, 128 CUs have committed $1,098,193,000 as of April 6.
