WESTBROOK, Maine – The Maine Credit Union league was recently part of a select group from the financial services and insurance industries in the state who attended a fundraising breakfast and roundtable discussion with Gov. John Baldacci. Also at the May 16th event were Jon Paradise, Governmental & Public Affairs manager for the League, and his Director of Governmental Affairs, Quincy Hentzel-Germann.

In addition to making a contribution to the governors' re-election campaign from the League's Governmental Affairs Committee, Paradise and Hentzel-Germann participated in a discussion with the approximately 15 other invitees on a variety of topics including the important role that the financial services industry plays in Maine's economy and some of the other issues that are likely to come up during the fall campaign.

After breakfast, Gov. Baldacci told Paradise and Hentzel-Germann that he "appreciated the support of credit unions and what they mean to the people of Maine." Earlier this year, the league's board approved endorsing Governor Baldacci in his re-election as Maine's Governor.
