RICHMOND, Va. – For the first time since it was formed in 1934, the Virginia Credit Union League has a new brand design.

The new logo and tag line was unveiled to attendees at the league's 72nd Annual Meeting.

"The Virginia Credit Union League's mission is to help credit unions succeed. But the means by which we fulfill that mission have evolved dramatically during our long history," says VACUL President Rick Pillow. "Our new brand perfectly melds the more traditional aspects of our mission – education and training resource and political advocate, as examples – with the newer aspects of our mission as trusted experts in providing the innovative, market-proven products and services credit unions need to thrive in the highly-competitive financial services marketplace."

Pillow said the new brand "captures our role as the voice of Virginia's credit union movement" and better aligns with the extensive products and services the league offers now.

Among the league's many services are regulatory and political advocacy, education and training for credit union staff and volunteer officials, compliance information, debit and credit card products, consulting services, insurance products, shared branching, strategic planning services, budgeting and asset liability management assistance, human resource management assistance, lending resources, share draft processing, mortgage lending services, public relations and financial analysis services.

Over the next several months, the league intends to launch re-branded versions of its publications and communication materials, as well as overhaul its Web site.

"Now we have a brand that better communicates not only who we are today as an organization, but also what we aspire to be in service to our credit unions," said Pillow.
