SAN DIEGO – For its part in advancing its mission, the National Association of Women Business Owners has included USA Federal Credit Union among the nominees for the Corporate Partner of the Year award. NAWBO, a nonprofit organization with 8,000 members worldwide, will name the winner of the award at its BRAVO! Awards ceremony May 17 at the Admiral Kidd Conference Center in Point Loma, Calif. Others nominated for the award are Sempra Energy and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. The $680 million USA FCU has been honored numerous times for its work within the business community. In 2004, it was named “Large Business of the Year” by the I-15 Diamond Gateway Chamber of Commerce and in 2002, Mary Cunningham, the credit union's president/CEO, was presented with the “Women who Mean Business” award. USA FCU is also a sponsor of the Women's Business Center of California, a nonprofit affiliate of National University's School of Business and Management, which works to mentor and cultivate entrepreneurial women from socially and economically diverse backgrounds.
