The NFL's Eagles players and Diamond CU President/CEO John Faust, VP of Marketing Todd Rothenberger and representatives from Welsh Subaru shot some hoops to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
POTTSTOWN, Pa. – Diamond Credit Union has teamed up with local partners Pottstown School District and Welsh Subaru of Limerick and helped the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles work on their jump shots while raising money for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Over 700 area residents participated in the Basketball Challenge to see Philadelphia Eagles players take on the Pottstown “All Stars” to support the American Cancer Society.
Thirty teachers, alumni and community leaders made up the All Star team, including Diamond's own Bob “B-Bop” Heebner who went 3 for 3 from the 3-point line.
Eagles players participating in the event included: Donovan McNabb, Michael Lewis, Matt Ware, Reno Mahe and Sheldon Brown. An autograph session was held after the game for all attendees.
The Basketball Challenge was just one in a string of events Diamond CU has organized throughout 2006 for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life with a total donation anticipated to be greater than $25,000.
