WASHINGTON-CUNA representatives appeared on Capitol Hill recently to promote financial literacy and elevate recognition of CUNA and credit unions' financial education efforts on Capitol Hill.
Marta Trinkl, CUNA communications projects and events specialist, was one of the staffers who manned CUNA's booth at the April 25 "Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill" in the Hart Senate Office Building. CUNA, the Jump$tart Coalition, Junior Achievement, and the National Council for Economic Education, and others sponsored the event with the goal of raising awareness among policy makers. From the Hill, Senator Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii) and Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) and Representatives Judy Biggert (R-Ill.) and Ruben Hinojosa (D-Texas) hosted the event.
