DUBLIN, Ohio – The Ohio Credit Union League recently honored James Depue, president and general manager of CES Credit Union, as its 2006 Professional of the Year. Under his tenure which began in 1982, Depue led the expansion of the credit union in size and services. The $81 million CES Credit Union has grown over the years by expanding into several communities and bolstered its presence even more when it joined the Shared Branching network in 2005. Depue had the insight to grow the credit union's field of membership from a single-SEG tied to the oil-drilling industry to a community charter, the league said. Depue was also noted for his focus on member service and his activism in the credit union movement, serving in leadership positions with the North Central (Ohio) Chapter of Credit Unions and Corporate One Federal Credit Union, as well as many local organizations and boards. Depue received the honor at the Ohio Credit Union League's annual meeting in late April. Dick Bussa, chairman of the board of $180 million Desco Federal Credit Union, was named Volunteer of the Year.
