DURHAM, N.C. – For their diligence with learning about a number of financial education topics, 20 members of Latino Community Credit Union were recently honored at a graduation ceremony. Members completed workshops offered by the $24 million credit union, which included education on the benefits of a checking account and debit card, how to save and develop a good budget, credit history basics, advantages and disadvantages of credit card use and information on car and home purchases. “I am so pleased that each of our graduates took time out of their busy lives to attend our whole series of workshops,” said Erika Bell, director of financial education. “I am confident that their participation in the program will help our graduates on their path to achieve their goals, whether it is to save for their children's education, buy a home for their family, or build wealth for their family.” The workshops are provided four times each year. The credit union hosted the April 22 graduation ceremony.
