FRESNO, Calif. - Pacific Service Credit Union welcomed more than500 children and parents to Spring into Safety Day on Saturday,March 25. The event was held in the Community Room at the CU'sFresno branch and featured free DNA LifePrint kits and Child SafetyJournals for every child. The DNA LifePrint kit is the 21st centuryversion of "fingerprint" identification, providing parents with asample of their child's DNA that can be preserved for up to 80years. The Child Safety Journal includes an audio and digital videoof each child. Nurses from Fresno County EOC Head Start and studentnurses from CSU Fresno assisted in taking DNA samples. Severallocal organizations offered health and safety information duringthe event, including, Fresno Police, Fresno Police ActivitiesLeague, Sheriff's Foundation for Public Safety, Boy Scouts ofAmerica Sequoia Council, and Fresno Fire Department.
