LANSING, Mich.- Effective April 3, State Employees Credit Union is springing forward with a new name – NuUnion CU. With state employees making up less than 20% of its current members a name change was needed says President/CEO Stephan L. Winninger. To kickoff the name change, Winninger unveiled new signage at its downtown Lansing office. "We've been working hard over the last few months to get ready for today. Each employee has dedicated time to their personal development to ensure they'll deliver our promise to members," said Winninger. "Our staff is more committed than ever to providing members with service that's truly personalized and genuinely friendly." To build brand awareness, the $774 million credit union has also launched a new advertising campaign that plays up staffers' commitment to delivering the credit union's promise and new tagline-you've earned this kind of service. In January, all 270 staff members participated in a half-day workshop focusing on how to better serve members. At the end of each workshop, every employee signed their name as their commitment to members. "We knew we had great people, but this really moved us," said Winninger. "They were signing their names, saying they wanted to do more for our members and really make a difference in their lives. We're excited about what the future holds for NuUnion."
