BETHPAGE, N.Y. - This year, for the first time, the public will be in the know about the 2006 Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show events before the May 27 kick-off. Bethpage Federal Credit Union and New York State Parks Department have teamed up to launch an official air show Web site. Designed to build awareness of the already popular event, the new Web site (www.jonesbeachairshow.com) features range from a full list of all scheduled military and civilian aerial performers, and links to information about each, to flight schedules and information about Corporate Hospitality Chalets, where businesses can host VIP guests in a private, tented area. There is also a link to the New York State Parks' Web site (www.nysparks.com) for details about activities and programs at other popular state parks and historic sites across New York. "The Web site helps to build excitement for the air show, which has already drawn record numbers to Jones Beach," said Bethpage FCU President/CEO Kirk Kordeleski. We are thrilled to be able to present this marquee event for all of Long Island to enjoy." Held at Jones Beach State Park over Memorial Day Weekend, this year's event includes aerial stunts from such performers as the United States Navy Blue Angels, the United States Army Golden Knights and civilian aerobatic pilot Sean D. Tucker of Team Oracle. "With the introduction of this exciting new Web site, we are offering another user-friendly way to increase awareness of this spectacular annual event," said State Parks Commissioner Bernadette Castro. "The Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show Web page offers families and aviation enthusiasts up-to-date information on military planes, our hometown heroes and the performance schedule for the Memorial Day holiday weekend." Whether paying for the restoration of a Grumman F-11A Tiger Blue Angel jet to donate to the Cradle of Aviation Museum or being the title sponsor of the Air Show, Bethpage FCU continuously creates opportunities to honor its roots by paying tribute to the area's aviation history. Bethpage FCU was originally founded to serve employees of Grumman, makers of aircraft and spacecraft. -
