MINNEAPOLIS – Twin City Co-ops Federal Credit Union sponsored 10 high school students attending the Big MAC Youth Conference. The conference was a collaborative effort of Minnesota and Wisconsin cooperative organizations. Almost 100 students attended the two-day conference. The conference was designed to help high school students gain a better understanding of the role and operation of cooperatives, develop leadership skills, discover a problem-solving process they can use and related teen issues. Participants also learned about credit unions, student cooperatives and how to manage cooperatives in today's business environment. The highlight of the conference was "Breakthrough Leadership Skills" presented by Craig Hillier. Cooperatives interested in participating in the 2007 youth conference should contact the Minnesota Association of Cooperatives in Saint Paul.
