ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has announced its slate of candidates for three open at-large seats on its board as well as the Region I seat. Pentagon FCU Vice Chair Robert Scott, ABNB FCU President and CEO Millard Ratcliff, State Department FCU Chair Marlene Schwartz, American Airlines FCU President and CEO John Tippets, SRP FCU President Ed Templeton, and Navy FCU President and CEO Cutler Dawson are vying for the at-large board seats. Price Chopper Employees FCU CEO Dawn Donovan, Security FCU Second Vice Chair Arthur McGee, and First Source FCU President and CEO Michael Parsons are the candidates for the Region I spot. Ballots are being mailed out April 20 and voting will close May 25. The winners will assume their new posts at the close of NAFCU's Annual Conference in July. Bill Cheney, who has taken the top post at the California Credit Union League, and Brian McDonnell, former Navy FCU CEO and treasurer, have already vacated their seats. NAFCU Chairman Mike Vadala, president and CEO of The Summit FCU, has reached the three, three-year term limit this year. Nationwide FCU President and CEO Paula Edwards has also said she will not seek re-election after two years on the NAFCU Board; she was serving the last year in the unexpired term of former NAFCU Chair Diane Furnas, CEO of Southwest Airlines FCU. "It was a tough decision," Edwards commented. "I absolutely enjoyed every minute of my time on the NAFCU Board." However, after 34 years at her credit union, another three year commitment to the NAFCU Board was not one she wanted to make. "It was just time to reassess what I want to do with my life." -
